Go Yoga Amelia offers several styles of Yoga. Whether you are a Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Power Yoga, there is a class perfect for you!
BASIC YOGA FLOW: Our most popular class! This 75 minute class is a non-threatening introduction to yoga postures. It is a gentle class which incorporates breath with movement, stretching, twists and holding poses to feel the energy release benefits. It is open to all-levels but especially the novice. Each student an be encouraged to modify poses to fit their level. The class closes with relaxation/meditation. It is the perfect class to start your yoga practice or to refresh your energy and spirit. Offered 5 times a week.
ALL LEVEL HATHA VINYASA FLOW: Hatha Vinyasa Yoga is an all levels practice with medium intensity and an emphasis on flowing through one pose to the next, connecting all movements with the breath done in a warm but not hot room. The 75 minute classes are designed for all levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) to build strength, lose weight, gain flexibility, cultivate self-awareness, detox organs and bring the practitioner into peaceful connection with life. Classes end with relaxation, sound therapy and brief meditation.
LEVEL II HATHA VINYASA YOGA : This upbeat class is open to students of Intermediate abilities focusing on flowing in and out of poses riding the breath. You will feel refreshed and enervated after this class. This class encompasses traditional yoga poses in a flowing movement with spine awakening stretches, strength building reps of Sun Salutations, Plank, inversions and balancing ending in relaxing Sivasana. Focused on bringing optimum health, strength and balance to the participants. The basis of this practice is to open the body, mind and spirit to one’s full potential of wellness.
YOGA FUNDAMENTALS WORKSHOP: This introduction to yoga presents all the basics with explanations of yoga in 4 progressive sessions. The ancient discipline of yoga is clearly explained and demonstrated step by step. There is an emphasis on alignment, posture, breath control, and body awareness. Each student is guided safely in and out of postures that enhance balance, mindfulness,and strength. Each session is 75 minutes long, each pose is broken down into fundamental steps with time to ask questions and personal instruction. Generally offered 4 times a year.
CANDLELIGHT YOGA (Fall/Winter Months): Candlelight yoga by the studio fireplace and warm inviting candles, is a restoring, evening practice that emphasizes connecting breath with movement, relaxing the body and mind, and rejuvenating the spirit. Geared for all levels who want to de-stress and relax into calming, meditative movement with soft music. The peaceful atmosphere allows the student to become more fully present and connect with inner awareness. Begins and ends with brief meditative breathing.
POWER YOGA: Power yoga is a brilliant synthesis of different traditions of yoga, creating a dynamic mix of inspiration and perspiration. The multi-level flow allows for intermediate and advanced students to be challenged in the same class. The practice is vigorous and high energy. Classes are typically 75 minutes unless otherwise noted. The warm room allows the muscles to relax bringing suppleness to soft tissue, perspiration for cleansing and detoxifying the body. You will be completely transformed from regular practice of Power Yoga.
